O’Neill Beach is a popular West Coast surfing and fishing spot.
Te Henga beach is smaller than the other beaches, with a cozier feel. The sand starts well back from the surf and there is a simple lagoon before the river approaches the sea. A walking track crosses the northern headland to secluded O’Neill Bay, another favorite with surfers.
