Sochi is a resort city, and the Black Sea is one of its main attractions. It is famous for being the place where the Soviet Union schooled its Olympians as it is for its sandy beaches.
Sochi is famous for its black smooth rocks that cover the shorelines. The Black Sea is huge, so you’ll find sandy beaches, but here in old town Sochi, black rocks rule. The sea is indeed warm and the climate subtropical, however, Sochi’s beaches are rocky and grey, with artificial trees and sunbathing loungers dressing up the skimpy stretch of sand.
